Why VLC is the player you should use?

VLC Media Player has earned itself to be recognized as one of the best video and audio players that we can have on the computer, tablet or mobile phone. With 17 years of history behind it, it is one of the most complete alternatives available on the market (if not the most), which puts at your fingertips many useful functions for both basic and advanced users.

VLC is a free, open source and free multimedia player and framework developed by VideoLAN. It was born as an academic project in 1996, initially created by students from the École Centrale Paris, and today programmers from all over the world participate.

Many claim that VLC is the best player for a multitude of reasons. In addition, it has added HDR support , supports 360º video and 3D audio , activates hardware decoding by default to obtain 4K and 8K playback , and supports the exploration of local network drives and NAS, among other interesting new features.

Access the advanced settings of the program

This actually will allow us to have at our disposal and in view, customizable functions, both basic and more advanced. As it is easy to imagine, all this will allow more advanced users to be able to make use of internal characteristics that allow to adjust the operation of the program to the maximum.

Well, in order to change the display mode of this preferences section, in the lower left corner of the window , we find the solution. We will see this in the Show settings section, where we only have to change the marker from Simple to All. To make the change, we will instantly see that this configuration window that we have on the screen, radically changes its appearance.
                                     
In this way we will see how a series of sections and subsections appear on the left side of the interface , each one full of configurable functions. As we go over each of them, we see that the available options appear in the menu on the right of the interface. Of course, it is worth mentioning that these parameters that we find in this case, should be changed only in the case that we are advanced users.

With everything and with this, in the event that we see that the operation of the program is not adequate after making some changes and not knowing how to undo them, there is no problem. We tell you this because VLC itself offers us a solution that allows us to return the VLC program to its initial parameters. This is something that we achieve by simply clicking on the Restore preferences button that is located in the lower left corner.
